Thursday 8th May 2025 marked the 8oth Anniversary of the end of the war in Europe.
Collingtree Parish Council joined in with many national and local communities celebrating VE Day 80.
Our special VE Day Coffee Morning in the Village Room was attended by many residents, it was so lovely to see lots of our usual coffee morning group and many new faces.
We decorated the hall in bunting and flags, red, white and blue flowers and served cream scones, gorgeous VE Day Cupcakes by The Cake Fairy and little prosecco to mark the occasion.
Our Vice Chair Cllr Sharon Collins had organised a special VE Day themed hamper from Cynthia Spencer. Collingtree resident Catherine Thompson was the very lucky winner and a fabulous £94 was raised for the charity.
As well as celebrating this occasion we also paid tribute to those that served in the war by laying a commemorative
wreath in the Church.
